wedding

None Amy and I had a wonderful wedding ceremony in San Diego. Here's our photo album.

Thanks to everyone who was able to attend -- we know that it was a long trip for most, so we really appreciate that you were able to travel out and celebrate with us. It was great to see you all.

Much of the credit for the event itself goes to Amy's mom, because she did so much planning and legwork, and created all the centerpieces for the tables. Amy and I did a little work on our vows, but Bridget really pulled our writings together into a very meaningful ceremony with just the right touches for us and the audience. Jill and Marianne were a great help to Amy as she was getting in her dress and Jill also doubled as the photographer's assistant. Ruth, Katrina and Oleg did our wedding cake, and that was super tasty as well as amazing to look at. We're looking forward to our one-year anniversary so we can enjoy more of it. My mom put together a really great rehearsal dinner with plenty of vegetarian food for us vegesauruses and lots of regular food for the meatasaurauses. Neil, my best man, had the whole audience laughing with his toast, and Katrina's toast to Amy was very heartfelt and touching.

Amy and I got to perform our dance, which Amy choreographed with the help of our Lindy Hop teacher Shawn and aerials teacher Davis back in Boston. It was a big hit, and we had as much fun training for it as we did performing. As a bonus, because we hadn't told anyone about what we were doing, we surprised the audience. :)

The honeymoon was amazing -- so relaxing after the move cross country and the general pre-event business of the wedding week. The Grand Velas was an unbelievably nice place that went out of their way to accommodate us with custom vegetarian dishes. While relaxing on the beach chairs we met Cheryl, Carlos, Gail and Kevin: super nice people that made the trip even that much more fun. We'll always remember sipping the local concoctions like a Miami Vice or a Mayan Sacrifice while talking about Batman or the crazy judge suing the dry cleaning company for $14 gajillion because they lost his suit.

It was a great time.
